Nirmala Milkha Kaur: wife of Milkha Singh & former caption of the Volleyball Team of India, passes away.


Surat S. Mathur: 1951 Asiad medallist and 1952 Olympics marathoner Surat Singh Mathur dies of COVID-19.


Asian Games gold medal-winning former boxer Dingko Singh died: after a long battle with liver cancer. He was 42 and had been fighting the disease for which he was being treated since 2017. Last year, he had tested positive for Covid-19.


Anirudh Jugnauth: Former Mauritius President and former Prime Minister Sir Anirudh Jugnauth has passed away. He was 91 years old. Jugnauth, who served as the President of Mauritius twice and Prime Minister six times, was awarded the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian honor, in 2020. 


Alka Raghuvansi": Artist, art critic, writer and a popular face in Delhi’s cultural space passed away.


Yuan Longping(the father of Hybrid Rice):  a Chinese scientist who developed higher-yield rice varieties that helped feed people around the world, died. 


Former NSG director general J K Dutt: who headed the commando forces during the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, died, due to complications arising out of Covid-19.


Sundarlal Bahuguna: the leader of "CHIPKO MOVEMENT" passes away due to COVID-19' in the AIIMS, Rishikesh.

                                                                                         


Rajendra Singh Jadeja: referee of BCCI passes away.  Former Saurashtra cricketer Rajendrasinh Jadeja, who also served as a match referee in 53 first-class, 18 List A & 34 T20 matches, died of COVID -19.


Jagannath Pahadia: Veteran Congress leader and former Rajasthan chief minister Jagannath Pahadia died due to Covid-19 at the age of 89. The chief minister of Rajasthan in 1980-81 and also a former governor of Haryana and Bihar.

                                                                                 


Indu Jain: the Chairperson of 'TImes Group' passes away.                                              M.S.Narsimhan: a renowned mathematician passes away. 


Hemen Borgohain: was an eminent Assamese author and journalist. He had worked as the editor-in-chief of Assamese daily Niyomiya Barta until his death. He was awarded the 1978 Sahitya Akademi Award in the Assamese language for his novel Pita Putra. 


Gauri Amma: an elderly leader of Kerla, passes away.


Raghunath Mahapatra: Rajya Sabha MP Raghunath Mohapatra, who was also an eminent sculptor, died on Sunday at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar, days after he tested positive for COVID-19,  Mohapatra (78), a Padma Bhushan awardee, was admitted to the hospital on April 22, 2021.


Dr. Philipose Mar Chrysostom: one of India's well-known religious leaders and the oldest serving Bishop died on Wednesday. Philipose Mar Chrysostom died due to age-related ailments, a church spokesman said. He was 103. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter and paid rich tribute to Reverend Dr. Philipose Mar Chrysostom.


V. Kalayanam: who was personnel secretary of Mahatma Gandhi, passes away.


Ajit Singh:  Former Union minister and RLD chief Ajit Singh died due to Covid-19 at a hospital on Thursday. 82-year-old Singh was a prominent leader in Western Uttar Pradesh.

Rohit Sardana: A popular TV news anchor, with TV channel "AAJ TAK", passes away of Heart Attack, was diagnosed with COVID-19, a few days back.

                                                                                                


Pandit Debu Chaudhari: Sitar Maestro Pandit Debu Chaudhuri Dies of COVID-19 Related Complications. The musician, who was 85, is survived by his son Prateek, daughter-in-law Runa and grandchildren Rayana and Adhiraj.                                              


We, the Indians lost: Former Attorney-General Soli Sorabjee, TV news Anchor Rohit Sardana & Shooter Dadi Chandra Tomar.


Dr. Kunwar Bachain passes away:  Iconic Hindi poet Dr. Kunwar Bechain, who was battling COVID-19, passed away at a hospital in Uttar Pradesh's Noida. He was 78. Bechain and his wife Santosh, both of whom lived in Ghaziabad, had tested positive for coronavirus on April 12, 2021, after which they underwent treatment briefly in Delhi and were recently shifted to the Kailash Hospital in Noida.


Michael Collins: an American astronaut, Forgotten” Apollo 11 astronaut Michael Collins has died aged 90. Collins was best known as the crew member who joined Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin on their trip to the Moon in 1969.

Rajan Mishra: the well-known Classical Singer, from the acclaimed Rajan -Sajan Duo, Passes away.

Bhumidhar Barman: Former Assam chief minister Bhumidhar Barman passed away on Sunday evening at a private hospital in Guwahati after a prolonged illness, his family said. He was 91.


Maulana Wahiduddin Khan: an Islamic Scholar breathed his last.

Maidavolu Narasimham: (born 1927) was the thirteenth governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) from 2 May 1977 to 30 November 1977. He hails from Mydavolu village of Guntur District in Andhra Pradesh. RBI follows a policy of in-house promotions, where all staff persons are promoted internally.


Ganjam Venkatasubbaih: Kannada lexicographer Professor Ganjam Venkatasubbaiah passed away in Bengaluru. He was 107. Venkatasubbaiah was commonly known in literary circles as a walking encyclopedia of Kannada language and culture


Ahmad Husain 'Lala': who was once India's top Footballer passes away.

February 2021:

Rajiv Kapoor: Actor Rajiv Kapoor passes away from a heart attack at the age of 58. He was the son of Raj Kapoor & the younger brother of Rishi Kapoor & Randhir Kapoor. "Ram tehum"ri Ganga maili" was his super-duper film & another superhit film was "Ek jaan hai Hum".

                                                                                                                                       

Akhtar Ali: Akhtar Ali, the father of India's current Davis Cup coach Zeeshan Ali, was 83 and breathed his last in Kolkata. Akhtar, the father of India’s current Davis Cup coach Zeeshan Ali, was 83. Akhtar, whose coaching style emphasised on playing aggressive serve and volley game, shaped many careers, including that of the legendary Leander Paes apart from his own son Zeeshan. January 2021:

Shaibal Gupta: The economist and political commentator who set up the Asian Development Research Institute in Patna passes away.  Bihar has lost one of the very few institution-builders who, over the last three decades, made ADRI a well-known address for social science research in general, and Bihar-focused economic and public policy studies in particular.

Prasanta Dora: former football goalkeeper was diagnosed with a rare disease called "Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis(HLH) last month.

                                                                                                                                           

Narender Luther: a bureaucrat, poet, historian & author, he was posted in Hyderabad as an IAS in 1950, there & then, he emerged as a historian, he started writing about Hyderabad History, He was 88 years old.

Ustad Mustafa Khan:  was an Indian classical musician in the Hindustani classical music tradition, belonging to the Rampur-Sahaswan Gharana. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 1991, followed by Padma Bhushan in 2006 and Padma Vibhushan in 2018, died at the age of 89 years.

                                                                                                                                              

Ved Mehta: celebrated Indian-American writer passes away at the age of 86 years. The author of 27 books, including the twelve-volume autobiographical series Continents of Exile, a MacArthur Prize fellow, and member of the British Royal Society of Literature, Mehta also taught writing at numerous colleges and universities. Michael Kindo: Former star Hockey player passes away,  from Odisha state in India. He represented India in 1972 Summer Olympics and won the bronze medal. He was a member of the team that won the World Cup in 1975. He played at full back position. Shantanu Mahapatra: legendary Odia music director died of Odisha music for almost six decades and he will always be remembered by all. He composed the first modern Odia ballad "Konark Gatha" with lyrics by Gurukrushna Goswami and sung by Akshay Mohanty.

Nikhil Nandi: Nikhil Nandy, a member of the Indian football team that finished fourth in the 1956 Olympics, died in Kolkata on December 2020, after a long illness.

                                                                                                                                                      

Col. Narendra 'Bull' Kumar (PVSM, Kirti Chakra AVSM):  Colonel Narendra ‘Bull’ Kumar, an iconic mountaineer and the man who helped secure the Siachen Glacier for India, passed away Thursday at the Army Research and Referral (R&R) hospital in Delhi. Kumar, 87, was suffering from        age-related ailments. He was responsible for the success of Operation Meghdoot in 1984, a high-altitude operation to pre-empt Pakistan from occupying the Saltoro Ridge and the Siachen Glacier.

Norman Abramson: pioneer behind wireless computer Network, died at the age of 88 years.

    Mahashay Dharampal Gulati: Owner/CEO of Indigenous  Spices Company "MDH((Mahashian Di Hatti Private Limited),)",   King of Spices passed away at the age of 98 years,

    Tarun Gogoi: Vetreran Congress Leader in Assam, who served as C.M. of Assam in 3 terms from 2001 to 2016

    Keshubhai Patel:  former Gujarat CM, passes away at 92 of post COVID-19 complications,  The BJP veteran served as chief minister of Gujarat in 1995 and then from 1998 to 2001. He was succeeded by Narendra Modi.

    Lee Kun Hee: Chairman of Samsung Electronics. died at the age of 78 years.

    Saroj Khan: The much-acclaimed Bollywood choreographer Nirmala Pandey, popularly Known as Saroj Khan, died at the age of 71 years. The film “Tezab” put her at the top and made her synonymous with Dancing in films. 

    Jagdeep Jafri: Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed Jafri (born-29 March 1939, died-July 8, 2020), better known as his stage name Jagdeep, 

    fondly known as "Surma Bhopali" was an Indian film actor and comedian who has appeared in more than 400 films. He was especially known for his comic roles.

    Awadh Bin Hasan Jami: Acclaimed Gujrati Cartoonist 

    Jyotsna Bhatt: Jyotsna Bhatt, 80, leading ceramic artist, died on Saturday at her home in Baroda, where both she and her deceased husband, artist Jyoti Bhatt, taught at MS University for years.     Wajid Khan: one of Composer Duo Sajid-Wajid, died at the at of 42 years.'Wajid Khan died of cardiac arrest, was tested positive for COVID-19', says Sajid Khan - Republic World Sajid Khan recently told PTI that Wajid Khan was tested positive for Covid-19. Wajid Khan passed away at a city hospital at the age of 42.

    Gulzar Delahlvi: Famous Urdu poet, His efforts led to the publication of 1st Urdu science magazine "SCIENCE KI DUNIYA"

    Sushant Singh: Budding Bollywood actor committed suicide.


    May 2020:

    Balbir Singh Sr.: A great Hockey Player, was a member of the Indian Squad in years 1948, 1952 & 1956 that won these Olympic Gold. He was the very 1st player to receive "PADAM SHREE".

    R. Sanmugam: an acclaimed Football player, 

    R Shanmugan, who was born in Myanmar, had played for Mohun Bagan and served as a coach at several local clubs in the state.

    Sh. Ajit Jogi: 1st CM of Chhatisgarh, died at the age of 74 years

    April 2020:
    Irfan Khan:  A Bollywood actor of high fame, died on April 29th, 2020, At the age of 53 years. He was suffering from Neurocrine Cancer. "English Medium" was his last film.

    Rishi Kapoor: on the next day, viz. 30th April 2020, Bollywood lost another popular actor in Rishi  Kapoor. He was from the third generation of Prithvi Raj Kapoor.  

    Chuni Goswami: Subimal Goswami (15 January 1938 – 30 April 2020), commonly known by his nickname Chuni Goswami, was an Indian international footballer and first-class cricketer. He was born in Kishoreganj District of undivided Bengal (now in Bangladesh). Died at the age of 82 years. As a striker, he played 30 international matches representing India and scored 9 times for the team. As a first-class cricketer, he played Ranji Trophy for Bengal, captaining his team to the final of the tournament in 1971–72. He captained India to the Asian Games Gold Medal in 1962 and a Silver in the 1964 Asia Cup in Tel Aviv and in the Merdeka 

    March 2020:

    PK Banerjee - Indian Football player and Coach (March 2020)

    Pradip Kumar Banerjee was an Indian football player and coach. He represented India in 36 official matches, wearing the captain’s armband in 6 of them, and scored 19 official goals for the country. He was one of the first recipients of Arjuna Award when the awards were instituted in 1961
    Nimmi: a Bollywood actress of yesteryears, who started his career his "BARSAT", an RK Studio production. Nawab Banoo, better known by her stage name Nimmi, was an Indian screen actress who achieved stardom in the 1950s and early 1960s in Hindi films. She gained popularity by playing spirited village belle characters but has appeared in diverse genres such as fantasy and social films
