Savitri Jindal ranks number one among India"s richest women. She is the chairperson emeritus of OP Jindal Group and inherited the empire after her husband O.P. Jindal’s death in 2005. Notably, Jindal is the only woman billionaire in India in 2025 among India’s top 10 richest persons.
Besides business, Jindal entered politics, winning a Haryana Vidhan Sabha seat in 2005 from Hisar. She was reelected in 2009 and was appointed as a cabinet minister of the Haryana government in 2013. In October 2024, she contested independently in Haryana State Assembly elections and became the MLA from Hisar seat.

A resident of Samarlkota village in the Kakinada district of Andhra Pradesh, Goli Shayamala, a 52-year-old woman conquered a grueling 150-kilometre swim across the Bay of Bengal. This swim spanned over a period of five days, starting from Vishakhapatnam on December 28, 2024, and ending on January 4, 2025, at the shores of Kakinada. Shyamala started this journey under the guidance of the Coromandel Odyssee Ocean Swimming Organisation. She maintained a pace of 30 kilometers per day, pushing her mental and physical limits to reach her destination.
