  • Neeraj Chopra: the man who gave a gold medal to the Indian tally by adding the lone Gold medal in Javelin Throw. This is a Gold medal that came to India after 13 years. The earlier was won by Abhinav Bindra in 10 meters air-rifle event in 2008. This is the 1st ever medal won in Athletics by any Indian Athlete. 
                   

  • Sarla Thukral: was the 1st woman pilot of India, who flew an aircraft in 1936 at the age of 21 years draped in a sari. Google honored this Indian lady with wings on her 107th birth anniversary, by featuring in Doodle.

  • 2021 Fortune’s Global 500 list: 7 Indian Companies Feature in Fortune Global 500 list for 2021. Globally, Walmart has topped the list in terms of revenue for the eighth consecutive year and the 16th time since 1995. China has dominated this year's list for the highest number of companies featuring in the list at 143, including those from Taiwan. This is followed by the U.S. with 122, and Japan with a total of 53, respectively.

  • P.V.Sindhu: the Indian shuttler won the Bronze medal in Tokyo Olympics 2021. She became the 1st Indian woman to win 2 medals in Olympics in the individual event, That too, with different colors. She had won a silver in Rio Olympics in 2016.

  • Sajan Prakash: Indian swimmer in Tokyo Olympics.

  • Santhosh George Kulangara:  India’s first space tourist, The Kerala-based traveler is the first Indian selected by the Virgin Group. The 49-year-old had undergone rigorous training, including the zero-gravity training, at Kennedy Space Centre after being selected. He has also done a travelogue of his initial training sessions. 
  • Gokulam Kerala FC: will represent India in the AFC women club championship.


  • Sirisha Bandla: Sirisha Bandla will be the second Indian-born woman to fly into space after Kalpana Chawla on July 11th. She will be one of the five people who will fly into space in Richard Branson’s Virgin Galactic. This will be the company’s fourth manned test space flight and will take off nine days ahead of the departure of billionaire and Amazon’s founder Jeff Bezos.

  • Jamshedji Tata: has been declared the greatest 'philanthropist of the 20th century, The Edelgiev Foundation and Huron have compiled a list of the world’s largest philanthropists.  Jamshedji Tata is the only Indian to make the top 10 list, followed by Bill Gates, Melinda French Gates, Henry Wellcome, Howard Hughes and Warren Buffett. Jamshedji Tata has donated $ 102 billion to charitable causes. Wipro chairman Azim Premji is another Indian in the top 50. Ranked 12th on the list, he donated $ 2,200 to charity.

  • Upasana Kamineni(Director, Apollo Hospitals): takes on a new role as “Ambassador of Forest Frontline Heroes” at WWF India Recognizing the efforts of forest frontline workers.

  •  Laurel Hubbard: New Zealand weightlifter becomes first transgender athlete picked for Olympic Games.

  • Mawya Sudan: Flying Officer Mawya Sudan (a resident of J & K) has become the first woman from the state to be inducted as a fighter pilot in the Indian Air Force. She is the 12th female fighter pilot in the Air Force. Mawya Sudan, 24, belongs to Lamberi village near the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district of Jammu division.

  • Sachin Tendulkar and Muttiah Muralitharan Named Star Sports' Greatest of All Time in the 21st Century: India’s Sachin Tendulkar and Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan were named as Star Sports’ Greatest of All Time batsmen and bowler respectively in Tests of the 21st century. A 50-member jury gathered by Star Sports made the decision

  • Tunisia's Ons Jabeur: made history on Sunday when she became the first Arab woman to win a WTA title, 

  • Prime Minister Modi is adjudged leader no.1 globally: A data firm "Morning Consult" tracking the approval ratings of world leaders has put the net approval for Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a high of 55 percent. Morning Consult, which carries out surveys and researches globally, said in its latest survey that over 75 percent of people approve of Modi while 20 percent disapprove, making his net approval rating at 55.

  • Karim Khan: British barrister Karim Khan elected ICC's new chief prosecutor Khan, 50, won on second round of voting by 131 member states and replaces Fatou Bensouda, 

  • Mahmud Jamal: (a PIO), Justice Mahmud Jamal will assume office on 1 July to become the first Muslim judge of the Supreme Court of Canada.

  • Swapan Dasgupta: the well-known journalist has been nominated by the President to Rajya Sabha for the full term of 6 years, the other one Ram Jethmalani for a seat that has fallen vacant due to the demise of Raghunath Mohapatra for the reminder his (Mohapatra's) term i.e till 13-07-2024.

  • Jhang Hog: the blind mountaineer from China conquered the Mount Everest summit & thus turned the 3rd person of the world and the 1st Asian to accomplish it so.

  • Tsang Yin Hung: 45 years old mountaineer, a woman from Singapore, climbed the world’s highest peak,  Mount Everest, from the base camp in 25 hours and 50 minutes, beating the record — of 39 hours and 6 minutes — set by a Nepali woman, Phunjo Jhangmu Lama.

  • Mohabbat Singh: An 84-year-old man from Haryana who become the first person in India to be administered the Covid drug cocktail.

  • Anvi Bhutani: as the 2021-2022 university session by-election candidate, co-chair of the awareness and equality campaign racialism within the Oxford Students’ Union. Anvi Bhutani, an anthropology student of Indian descent at Magdalen College at the University of Oxford, was declared the winner of the student union by-election.

  • Penpa Tsering: (born 1967) is a Tibetan politician. He is the second democratically elected Sikyong (President) of the 17th Parliament-in-Exile of the Central Tibetan Administration (Tibetan government-in-exile).

  • "Fortune" magazine released the list of "Greatest Leaders who tackled COVID-19 pandemic effectively": New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern topped Fortune’s list of the world’s 50 greatest leaders and CEO of Serum Institute of India, Adar Poonawalla also made it to the list. Ardern has been lauded for her efficiency in tackling and controlling the spread of Coronavirus in New Zealand, while SII CEO Adar Poonawalla in the Top 10.

  • Miss Universe 2021:  Mexico's Andrea Meza Crowned Miss Universe 2021. Andrea Meza, 26, finished first ahead of the Brazilian and Peruvian finalists in the 69th installment of Miss Universe, held in Hollywood, 

                                                                                                                                           


  • Arjan Nagwaswala: Nagwaswala can become the first cricketer in the main team of India from the Parsi community after 46 years. Before 1975 Farooq was an engineer. 

    the BCCI has selected left-arm fast bowler Arjan Nagwaswala, who represented Gujarat in the Ranji Trophy, as the standby bowler in the Indian team for the tour of England.


  • Nepalese Sherpa Kami Rita scales Mount Everest for record 25th time: mountaineer is among the first climbers to scale Everest's new summit height, almost a meter higher than previously recorded

  •  Rashi Parasrampuria:  was crowned as Miss Teen India International at the Miss Teen Diva 2020 pageant in January 2021. She was crowned as the successor to Aayushi Dholakia. Miss Teen International is the world's biggest teen pageant and Rashi will be representing India at the pageant.

  • Vaishali Hiwase: Vaishali S Hiwase became the first woman officer to be appointed as officer commanding in the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) where she will be responsible for providing connectivity through an Indo-China border road.

  • Sonu Sood: was made brand ambassador by Punjab Government for Corona Vaccination campaign.

  • Kiyara: a 5 years old Indo-American girl who set a world record by reading 36 books in 105 minutes.

  • Sonam Wangchuk: invented a Tent heater powered by Sun. Ladakh-based engineer & education reformist Sonam Wangchuk has built a solar-powered military tent for the Indian Army at the Galway Valley. Wangchuk, who had previously succeeded in his solar-heated mud hut project, built a tent that could accommodate 10 jawans and is fully portable with the weight of the tent being less than 30 kilos. Sharing photos of the solar-powered tent, Wangchuk revealed that the tent could sustain even under sub-zero temperatures such as minus 14 degrees Celcius while pointing out that it was carbon neutral, replacing kerosene and tackling pollution.                                        
  • Reshmi Samant: 1st Indian Woman to become president of the president of Oxford Student Union. She hails from Karnataka. An alumna of Manipal Institute of Technology. Samant bagged more than the combined votes of the other three contestants for the post.   • Hima Das:  (born 9 January 2000), nicknamed the Dhing Express, is an Indian sprinter from the state of Assam. She holds the current Indian national record in 400 metres with a timing of 50.79 s that she clocked at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia. Assam State Government appointed her as DSP (Deputy Superintendent of Police) in the state.

  • Joe Root: Joseph Edward Root MBE is an English international cricketer who is the current captain of England in Test cricket.   • ICC selected 'BYZU': ICC announces BYJU'S as global partner until 2023The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced Indian education and learning company BYJU'S as its global partner from 2021 to 2023. Notably, the three-year agreement will see BYJU'S partner all ICC events, including the impending men's T20 World Cup in India and the women's World Cup in New Zealand. The company became the official jersey partners of the Indian cricket team in 2019. BYJU's Founded by Byju Ravindren. BYJU'S is an Indian educational technology (EdTech) and online learning firm founded in 2011 by Byju Raveendran. Following Kohli was superstar Akshay Kumar, who witnessed a jump 13.8 per cent, with valuation of $118.9 million followed by actor Ranveer Singh in the third spot with a brand value of $102.9 million.
  • Aiyesha Aziz: Ayesha Aziz (25) from Kashmir is reportedly the youngest pilot of India. In 2011, she became the youngest student pilot to get a license at the age of 15 and underwent training to fly a MIG-29 jet at Russia's Sokol airbase the following year.
  • Jeff Bezos(The Amazon CEO):  has announced his stepping down, Andy Jassy will be the next CEO.
  • Elon Musk:  the chief executive officer (CEO) of both SpaceX and Tesla, announces a prize of 100 millions to one who develops the "Best Carbon Capture Technique".

  • Leon Mendonka: Goa’s 14-year-old Leon Mendonca has become India’s 67th chess Grandmaster by winning the third and final norm at a tournament in Italy. Mendonca, who achieved the feat at 14 years, 9 months and 17 days, is the second GM from the coastal state
  • China's Zhong ShanShan: is the richest person of Asia, Thus replacing Mukesh Ambani.

  • S. Riyasdeen: A second year Mechatronics Engineering Student of Sastra  Deemed Engineering University(Tamil Nadu) built a 'Femto Satellite' which he calls 'Vision Sat', is the lightest satellite.

                                S. Riyasdeen's 37 mm sized FEMTO satellites VISION SAT v1 and v2 with a payload of 30 mm weighing 33 gms has made it to the world's lightest FEMTO satellite.

  • Satara Teacher Balaji Jdhav: teaching in small  Zilla Parishad School, his ‘lockdown teaching’ innovation wins award. Teaching was done through storytelling, sometimes stories were made up by both the teacher and the students together & these were then recorded to share with other students later. Eight months since the experiment began, Jadhav, who can now boast of covering 100 per cent of his student syllabus through conference calls and even helping kids of neighbouring schools, became one of 11 international HBN Creativity & Inclusive Awardees announced on December 24, 2020.

  • WTA sports-Person of the year 2020: American Sofia Canin (fondly known as Kenny) has been named WTA Player of the Year after winning her first Grand Slam singles title at the Australian Open. Kenny claimed the title at Melbourne Park, defeating world number one Ashley Barty in the semifinals and two-time Grand Slam champion Garbin Muguruza in the final.
  • Sonu Sood: a Bollywood actor, tops the list of 50 Asian Personalities of     year 2020, world-wide. The list presented by British newspaper "Eastern Eye"
