=>Kuwait honors Modi ji:
Prime Minister conferred with the highest national award of
December 22, 2024
His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Amir of Kuwait conferred upon Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi The Order of Mubarak Al- Kabeer, the highest national award of Kuwait. His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister of Kuwait also graced the occasion.
2.Prime Minister dedicated the award to the long-standing friendship between India and Kuwait, to the Indian community in Kuwait and to the 1.4 billion people of India.
3. The conferment of the award on this historic visit of the Prime Minister of India to Kuwait after 43 years added a special meaning to the occasion.
4. The award was instituted in 1974 and has since been conferred on select global leaders.
=>Sahitya Academy Awards 2024: Sahitya Akademi has announced its annual Sahitya Akademi Awards in 24 languages. 9 books of poetry, 6 of novel, 5 of short stories, 3 Essays and 1 Literary Study have won the Sahitya Akademi Awards 2023.
The Awards, recommended by distinguished Jury members in 24 Indian languages, were approved by the Executive Board of the Sahitya Akademi which met on 20th December, 2023 under the Chairmanship of Sri Madhav Kaushik, President, Sahitya Akademi.

=>National Water Awards 2024: The Department of Water Resources, River Development, and Ganga Rejuvenation (DoWR, RD &GR), Ministry of Jal Shakti announced 38 winners, including joint winners, for the 5th National Water Awards, 2023, in 09 categories viz Best State, Best District, Best Village Panchayat, Best Urban Local Body, Best School or College, Best Industry, Best Water User Association, Best Institution (other than school or college), and Best Civil Society.
In the category of Best State, the first prize has been conferred upon Odisha, with Uttar Pradesh securing the second position, and Gujarat and Puducherry jointly securing the third position.

=>President Murmu gets 2 International awards: 1) President Droupadi Murmu receives Fiji's highest civilian award.
2) President Droupadi Murmu was honored with Timor-Leste's highest civilian award, the Grand-Collar of the Order. Her visit marked the first presidential visit from India to Timor-Leste.
=>54th International Physics Olympiad 2024: India amessed a greater laurel at the 54th International Physics Olympiad, which was held at Isfahan in Iran. The Indian participants got 2 gold and 3 silver medals
=>ISRO awarded for Changrayan-3: Scientists at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) have made history by successfully landing Chandrayaan-3 near the Moon’s south pole. This remarkable achievement has garnered global recognition for ISRO.
The International Space Federation (ISF) will honor this historic success of Chandrayaan-3 with the World Space Award. Notably, before India, only spacecraft from the United States, Russia, and China had successfully performed a soft landing on the Moon.
The award will be presented during the opening ceremony of the 75th International Astronautical Congress (IAC) in Milan, Italy, on October 14. Notably, India became the first country to achieve a successful landing near the Moon’s south pole on August 23, 2023.

=>Olympic Order Award to Abhinav Bindra: The Olympic Order, established in 1975, is the highest award of the Olympic Movement. It is awarded for particularly distinguished contributions to the Olympic Movement, i.e. recognition of efforts worthy of merit in the cause of sport.. Indian Ace olympian Abhinav Bindra has been choosen this time. the IOC bestows the Olympic Order upon the chief national organiser(s) at the closing ceremony of each respective Olympic Games. viz 10th of August of 2024.
=>Russia gave its top award to P.M. Modi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was officially presented with Russia’s highest civilian honor, the Order of St Andrew the Apostle the First-Called, by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a ceremony in St Catherine’s Hall of the Moscow Kremlin
=>Pen Pinter prize 2024: goes to Anudhati Roy. Arundhati Roy is the 2024 winner of the PEN Pinter Prize which was set up in 2009 by English PEN in memory of Nobel laureate playwright Harold Pinter. Roy will receive the prize on October 10, 2024 in a ceremony co-hosted by the British Library.
The Prize is awarded annually to a writer resident in the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, the Commonwealth or former Commonwealth who, in the words of Harold Pinter’s Nobel speech, casts an “unflinching, unswerving” gaze upon the world, and shows a “fierce intellectual determination…to define the real truth of our lives and our societies”. This year’s jury comprised English PEN chair Ruth Borthwick, actor Khalid Abdalla, and writer Roger Robinson.
=>UN military gender advocate award 2023: Radhika Sen, an Indian military peacekeeper serving in the Democratic Republic of Congo has won the 2023 United Nations Military Gender Advocate of the Year Award. Sen, working with the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission, served in the east of Congo from March 2023 to April 2024.

=>Green Nobel to an Indian: The 2024 Goldman Environmental Prize, also known as the Green Nobel will be awarded to Alok Shukla, convener of Chhattisgarh Bachao Andolan (CBA) on Monday, for his work to protect Hasdeo Arand, one of the largest contiguous stretches of very dense forest in central India spanning 170,000 hectares, with 23 coal blocks.
Alok Shukla led a successful community campaign that saved 445,000 acres of biodiversity-rich forests from 21 planned coal mines in Chhattisgarh=>Padam Awards 2024: Padam awards were conferred on 132 eminent persons awarded Padma awards. 5 Padam Vibhushan, 17 Padam Bhushan and a total of 110 Padam shri sammans have been conferred.

=>Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award 2024: Famous Hindi cinema actor Amitabh Bachchan will be honoured with the third Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award to be held this year. The award was announced at a press conference organized by the Master Deenanath Mangeshkar Smriti Pratisthan Public Charitable Trust and the Mangeshkar family on 16 April 2024 in Mumbai.

=>Saraswati Samman 23: It is 33rd Saraswati award.Malayalam poet and author Prabha Varma won the 2023 Saraswati Samman for his work Roudra Sathwikam. The KK Birla Foundation established the award in 1991 and it's considered one of India's most prestigious literary awards.
