=>India is re elected as Vice Chairman of COP10 Bureau: India was re-elected Vice-Chairperson of COP10 Bureau under UNESCO. The election was held at UNESCO Headquarters, Paris, 20–22 Oct 2025. The session marked 20 years of the International Convention against Doping in Sport. Convention adopted in 2005 and came into force in 2007.

=>India is elected to UN ECOSOC for 2 years:

=>IMD completes its 150 years: Established in 1875, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) is completing 150 years of service on 15th January 2025. IMD is one of the earliest government departments created for systematic observation, regular reporting, and scientific forecasting of weather in the Indian subcontinent..

=>BRICS gets 11th member: Indonesia has formally joined the BRICS group, a bloc of emerging economies featuring Russia, China and others that is viewed as a counter to the West.

Brazil, which holds the rotating presidency of the group, declared on Monday that Indonesia was set to join as a full member. Indonesia said on Tuesday that it “welcomes” the announcement.
