=>Dr. Nambi Narayan: Dr. Nambi Narayanan Receives the Bhavya Bharat Bhushan Award

Dr. Nambi Narayanan is a symbol of resilience whose scientific contributions remained steadfast even in challenging situations. His deep technical mastery and unwavering determination pushed Indian rocketry into a new era, and his pioneering space research laid the foundation for engines that continue to carry India’s hopes into space.


=>Geoscience Nobel to an Indian-origin person 2026: 

Indian-origin atmospheric scientist Veerabhadran Ramanathan was awarded the prestigious 2026 Crafoord Prize, often called the "Nobel of Geosciences," for his transformative climate research. Domestically, the National Geoscience Awards 2024 honored Prof. Shyam Sundar Rai (Lifetime Achievement) and Shri Susobhan Neogi (Young Geoscientist).

=>Meha Jain got the Climate Research Award: Indian-origin climate scientist Meha Jain, an associate professor at the University of Michigan School for Environment and Sustainability, has been awarded the Arizona State University–Science Prize for Transformational Impact, a global recognition given to early-career researchers whose work shows measurable social benefit.


=>Dalai Lama gets Grammy Award: Tibetan spiritual leader, The Dalai Lama, was awarded his first Grammy at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, winning Best Audio Book, Narration, and Storytelling Recording for his spoken-word album.

=>Global Teacher Award 2026: Indian educator and activist Rouble Nagi has won the prestigious $1 million Global Teacher Prize at the World Governments Summit in Dubai for transforming education through her network of over 800 learning centres and educational murals across India's slums.

=>Indira Gandhi Peace Prize 2025:    Mozambican rights activist and humanitarian Graca Machel has been selected for the Indira Gandhi Prize for Peace, Disarmament and Development for 2025.


=>Padma Awards: A total of 131 Padma Awards were conferred with. On the eve of the 77th Republic Day 2026, the President of India approved 131 Padma Awards, comprising 5 Padma Vibhushan, 13 Padma Bhushan, and 113 Padma Shri awards. The list features 19 women, 16 posthumous awardees, and 6 recipients from the Foreigner/NRI/PIO/OCI category, honoring excellence in fields like art, social work, and public affairs.
