►17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Ranking: India ranks at 117/193. Thus slips by 2 places vis last year(last year it was 115th). India ranks below four South Asian countries -- Bhutan, Nepal, SriLanka and Bangladesh, These 17 goals are to be achieved by 2030.
►NITI ayog released the 3rd edition of SDG India Index 2020-21: The third rendition of India’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Index will be launched by NITI Aayog on 3rdJune, 2021. First launched in December 2018, the index has become the primary tool for monitoring progress on the SDGs in the country and has simultaneously fostered competition among the States and Union Territories by ranking them on the Global Goals. Kerala ranked as the top-performing state with a score of 75 while Bihar was the worst performing state with a score of 52 in the NITI Aayog’s SDG India Index 2020-21.
►"Center for World University Ranking 2021-22": It considered some 19,788 global institutions for 'Global 2000 List". The top-ranking went to "Harvard University", while among Top Indian Institutions IIM Ahmadabad got 415th place & IISC got it at 459th.
►The consultancy firm Ernst & Young (EY) released 57th Renewable Energy Country Attractiveness Index 2020: India Ranks Third in 2020 EY Index: In 2020’s Index, India has been ranked at 3rd position in the renewable energy sector. In 2019, India was in 4th place, and this year, India’s position went up. India will set up 450 GW for renewable energy power capacity (installed) by the year 2030. The USA topped the list.
►Jharkhand bags first rank in govt’s Smart City Mission ranking: Jharkhand Ranks 1st in Implementation of Smart City Mission Schemes Rajasthan is in second place. The ranking is published by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) that is, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA). his scheme is running in different 100 cities of the country's 36 states and Union Territories. Rajasthan stood 2nd.
►S & P Global Market Intelligence Unit: says India's Insurance Technology is the 2nd top one globally.
►Solar photovoltaic (PV) front.index: India has moved a notch higher at the third spot on EY's Renewable Energy Country Attractiveness Index due to exceptional performance on the solar photovoltaic (PV) front.
►Chandler Good Government Index: The index is prepared based on seven pillars namely leadership and foresight, strong institutions, robust laws and policies, attractive marketplace, financial stewardship, helping people rise, global influence, and reputation. India ranked 49th in the Chandler Good Governance Index out of 104 countries.
►Global Energy Transition Index: India was at 87th rank.
►Asia-Pacific Personalised Health Index 2021:
►"Reporters without Borders: released "World Press Freedom Index", where Norway topped the list, India is at 142nd rung.
►Henley Passport Index 2021:Singapore topped the list, while India is at the 84th rung.
►"The Economist Intelligent Unit: released the "Inclusive Internet Index 2021. India stood at the rung of 49.
The Inclusive Internet Index has been updated for 2021, with revised rankings and scores. The 120 countries in this year's index represent 98% of the global GDP and 96% of the global population.
►World Economic Forum (WEF): released the 'Global Gender Gap Index 2021, where India stands at 140th rank & Iceland tops the list.
►Bloomberg Innovation Index: India is at the 50th rung, while South Korea Tops the List.
►Democracy Index: released by 'The Economist Intelligence Unit. Here, Norway topped the list, while India is at 53rd Place.
►The Economist Intelligence Unit released The Asia Pacific Personalized Health Index: here, India was at 10th rung & Singapore topped the list.
►Transparency International's Corruption Perception Index 2020: reveals that persistent corruption is undermining health care systems and contributing to democratic backsliding amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
►COVID-19 performance Index: New Zealand, Vietnam top COVID-19 performance index, India at 86.
►Global Rank in Scientific Publication: India stands at 3rd rank, after the US & China.

►NITI Ayog released India Innovation Index: India gave it in 3 categories, 1) the Big States 2) Hilly & NE states 3) UTs.

►Global Fire Power Index: India is at 4th rank.
►Hanley Passport Index: Indian Passport is at 85th place, while Japan Tops the list.
►FAO(The Food and Agriculture Organization) released Food Price Index: World food prices rose for a sixth month running in November, hitting almost a six-year high with the index posting its biggest monthly increase since July 2012, the United Nations food agency said
►Human Development Index 2020: prepared by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). India is at 131 rungs, With an HDI value of 0.645, the country fell in the medium human development category. The UNDP has revised and updated the underlying data and adjusted the goalpost, making it difficult to accurately compare India’s ranking this year and in 2019. However, the UNDP in its country report gave some statistics tracing India’s journey in human development between 1990 and 2019. And at the top is Norway.

► Female Students in Science Education:
►Ease Of Doing Business Index 2019 report: India ranks at 63rd rung, it was 142 in 2015.
►Human Freedom Index: The Human Freedom Index presents the state of human freedom in the world based on a broad measure that encompasses personal, civil, and economic freedom. The jurisdictions that took the top 10 places, in order, were New Zealand, Switzerland, Hong Kong, Denmark, Australia, Canada, Ireland, Estonia, and Germany and Sweden (tied in 9th place). The index was published by the American think tank Cato Institute and Fraser Institute in Canada. India stood at the rank of 111th.

The top nation on this list is Norway, with a score of 0.954. Switzerland is in second place with a score of 0.946. Ireland ranks third with a score of 0.942. The least developed country globally with the lowest HDI in Niger, with an HDI of .377. Niger has widespread malnutrition, and 44.1% of people live below the poverty line.
►Odisha Tops in Urban Governance Index 2020: Odisha has topped all Indian states in urban governance, according to an annual index prepared by a non-partisan body that called for greater reforms and empowerment of city governments. Nagaland ranked at the bottom. Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh followed Odisha to round up the top five. Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and Manipur scored the lowest to rank just above Nagaland. The National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi ranked 13th.
The index revealed that Kerala had the most empowered city-elected representatives and legislative structure while Tamil Nadu had the most empowered city administration out of all 29 states. Odisha ranked first in the ‘empowered citizens’ category while Maharashtra and Karnataka were at the top in ‘fiscal empowerment’
►Global Climate Change Performance Index: The Climate Change Performance Index is a scoring system designed by the German environmental and development organization Germanwatch. The biggest emitter China is at 33rd. While the US is at the bottom ( not the biggest emitter but, not obeying the norms). India is at 10th place (it slips by one place, Last year India was at 9th).

►Asian University Ranking 2020: 8 Indian universities feature in THE Asia Rankings top 100 list — and it's not just IITs
- According to the Times Higher Education (THE) Asia Rankings, eight Indian institutions have been ranked in the top 100 list this year.
- These include Indian Institute of Science (IISc), IIT Ropar, IIT Indore, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Roorkee and the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT).
- India is the third most represented country on the Asian university ranking list behind Japan and China.
- These institutions, including the IITs, have been performing and improving across parameters like teaching, research, and industry metrics.
►Global Bribery Risk Index: India ranks 77th; Fares Better than Pak, China, Nepal. The list by TRACE, an anti-bribery standard-setting organization, measures business bribery risk in 194 countries, territories, and autonomous and semi-autonomous regions.
►44th International Migration Outlook 2020: India took the place of world No. 2 in Migrations to OECD nations - 44th International Migration Outlook 2020
OECD is an international organization where the governments of 37 member states work with each other to foster sustainable development. India emerged as the 2nd largest source country both in terms of the total inflow of new migrants to OECD countries and also as regards the number of Indians acquiring citizenship of these countries. China took the 1st position while Romania backed the 3rd place.
The states of Kerala, Goa, Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh have been most successful in integrating migrant workers, while crucial migrant-receiving states, including Delhi, have done poorly, shows the Interstate Migrant Policy Index that seeks to measure the integration of interstate migrants.

►Global Innovation Index 2020: The 2020 edition of the Global Innovation Index (GII) presents the latest global innovation trends and the annual innovation ranking of 131 economies. The theme of this year's GII - Who Will Finance Innovation? - is timely given the human and global economic damage wreaked by the COVID-19 global pandemic. Switzerland is the world’s most innovative economy followed by Sweden, the United States of America (U.S.), the United Kingdom (U.K.) and the Netherlands, according to the GII 2020. India is at the 48th position in the list of top 50 innovative countries. India occupied the 52nd position in the 2019 rankings.
►Commitment to reducing Inequalities index: India ranked at 129th. The Commitment to Reducing Inequality Index uses a new database of indicators covering 152 countries, which measures government action on social spending, tax and labor rights – three areas found to be critical to reducing inequality. In the recently published ranking list, Jamia secured top rank with a score of 90 percent, Rajiv Gandhi University of Arunachal Pradesh was ranked the second best with a score of 83 percent, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) was ranked third with a score of 82 percent.

With a score of 84.8 (+1.3), the world’s most competitive economy in 2019, overtaking the United States, which falls to second place. Hong Kong SAR (3rd), Netherlands (4th), and Switzerland (5th) round up the top five.

►World University Ranking 2021: Indian universities in 2021 global university ranking: IIT Bombay is ranked 172nd.
while IISc is 185th and IIT Delhi 193rd. Overall, 21 Indian higher education institutions figure in the top 1000. India’s best research university is IISc, which received a perfect 100/100 on the ‘citations per faculty indicator. Other IITs in the top 500 are: Madras (275), Kharagpur (314), Kanpur (350), Roorkee (383) and Guwahati (470).
►Hurun Rich List 2020: Bezos' wealth shot up from $20 billion to $160 billion in four months since the Covid-19 pandemic, the report said. Mukesh Ambani was the only Indian in the Global Top 10 list, and he saw his wealth bounce back $18 billion in the last two months, he was 9th on the list
