=>57th tiger reserve in India: India got its 

57th tiger reserve in Madhya Pradesh's Ratapani Wildlife Sanctuary as Ratapani TR.

Tiger reserves were established in India under the Project Tiger initiative of 1973. Here is how they are created and why they matter for wildlife conservation.

=>56th tiger reserve in India: 56th Tiger Reserve of the country located in Chhattisgarh, Guru Ghasidas - Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve is the the 3rd largest in the country, with a spread of over 2800 sq. km

=>CoP 29: is the conference via UNFCC. The 2024 UN Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC COP 29) is convened in November 2024 in Baku, Azerbaijan.

This event included the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP 29), the 19th meeting of the COP serving as the Meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP 19), and the sixth meeting of the COP serving as the Meeting of the Parties to the Paris Agreement (CMA 6) that will convene to complete the first enhanced transparency framework and the new collective quantified goal on finance, among other matters. The 61st sessions of the Subsidiary Body for Scientific and Technological Advice (SBSTA 61) and the Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI 61) will also meet.

=>India set to join "Energy efficiency hub": The Union Cabinet has approved India’s membership to the Energy Efficiency Hub -- a collaboration of countries working to improve the deployment of energy efficiency. “India will join the International Energy Efficiency Hub, a global platform that fosters collaboration and promotes energy efficiency worldwide. This move solidifies India’s commitment to sustainable development and aligns with its efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions,”

=>India's 1st CO2 to methanol plant: Such a plant will be established in Pune. The foundation stone of India’s first-of-its-kind CO2-to-Methanol pilot plant has been laid at Thermax Ltd.’s Research, Technology, and Innovation Center (RTIC) in Pune. Supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India, the pioneering project holds national significance as it aims to demonstrate CO2 capture and utilization (CCU) technologies, playing a crucial role in India's journey towards achieving net-zero carbon emissions.

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) and Thermax Ltd. will collaborate to develop the CCU technology. The plant with an overall capacity of 1.4 Tons Per Day (TPD) has been designed considering CO2 emissions from a diverse range of sources, including power plants, cement and steel plants, fertiliser plants, and refineries.

=>No. of Ramsar sites in India: with the addition of 3 more sites to the list, the number rose to 85. These new sites are:

The three new Ramsar sites are 

1) Nanjarayan Bird Sanctuary and 

2) Kazhuveli Bird Sanctuary in Tamil Nadu and 

3)Tawa Reservoir in Madhya Pradesh.
